The Ivors Academy and Hinrichsen Foundation invite composers to an online event introducing ‘The Living Music Trust’ - A new fund supporting contemporary classical and experimental music. This event is a follow-up to the successful town hall meeting which took place on 2 April in London and is for those who were unable to join in person in April.
Inspired by models like the Vaughan Williams Foundation, Holst Foundation, and Britten Pears Foundation, this new fund will be built from posthumous royalties. However, the vision for this Trust is that, in keeping with shifts in the sector, it will use a crowdfunding model and be built on the support of hundreds of composers choosing to donate a small percentage of their posthumous royalties.
In the short to medium term, it is envisaged that the fund will be launched through a public campaign, with a particular focus on encouraging legacy contributions to support future generations of music creators.
Join those working on this to learn more, share your insights to help shape the initiative, reconnect with other composers, and perhaps even play a role in shaping the future of new music.
This event is free for all Ivors Academy members. Become a member.
