Billboard has, for the first time, published a UK Power Players list, honouring the executives who keep Britain the world’s third-largest music market. The list also celebrates the leaders and companies building a fairer industry by protecting creators’ rights, using artificial intelligence responsibly and nurturing the grassroots scenes that produce tomorrow’s stars.
Roberto Neri’s inclusion recognises The Ivors Academy’s tireless advocacy on behalf of songwriters and composers. Under his leadership the Academy campaigns for fair remuneration, robust rights protection and progressive policy reform—ensuring that the voices behind the music are heard and rewarded.
In Neri’s words:
“The UK is a global music powerhouse, shaping culture with legendary and contemporary talent: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Adele, Kate Bush, RAYE, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran and rising stars like Lola Young. Our creativity and attitude are unmatched. As one of the most important centres of the global music business, the UK leads major conversations: fair pay, rights protection and the future of AI in music. As the business evolves, the UK is shaping the policies that will define the next era of music.”
The Ivors Academy congratulates Roberto Neri and every individual named in Billboard’s inaugural UK Power Players list.
